LiferayGurus is a startup with a work culture unlike anything you're used to. First off, we don't really believe in the 9-to-5 daily grind of commuting to work and back. We're happy for our people to work from home and spend more time with their families than in traffic. High-five your family instead of punching in/out of a time tracking system. We provide dedicated high-speed Internet for our people so that everyone is just a ping away on Slack.
We don't go for a dress code or any of that corporate hogwash, except if you're posted at a client site. Then you're subject to the client's dress code policy, but otherwise we couldn't care less. We try hard not to compel you to conform to arbitrary systems and processes that all the other companies love to do.
We don't have dedicated HR staff or Admin staff or Pantry staff or anything like that. We outsource everything from payroll to accounting, so that we can focus on building great products and delivering the best value for our services clients. We only do engineering and client services, because that's what we're good at.
Once in a while we hold an event we call Hack Time. That's when we bring together the entire team, usually to a nice resort, and work from there for a week or two. Hack Time is when we build up face-to-face contacts and work on team dynamics.
